Rhiannon Dolan & Dermot O`Rourke claim results

The second round of the Bike Station Cyclo Cross league was held on Thursday last and saw a much bigger turn out than the first night. A comfortable victory was taken by Belfast's Glen Kinning, whom is a regular international cyclist and will be hoping once again to be selected for the Irish National team for the upcoming winter international races. Second place was Cuchulainn's Ray O`Shaughnessey, who completed over half the race without a saddle, which had become loose and fell off. Last week's winner Gary Shiels had to settle for the final step on the podium this week. Meanwhile Jessica Jackson was first lady home.

On the open racing front it was the first round of the Ulster Cyclo Cross league held in Lurgan. The club had a huge turnout with 19 children taking part in the underage races, with the best result going to Rhiannon Dolan who got third in the under 12 race. The club's underage cyclists continue to improve with the Monday night session's at the club's training circuit really paying dividends.

Meanwhile on the smoother tarmac the club had a number of rider's participating in the Lucan Grand Prix. The pick of the club's results came in the A4 race where Dermot O`Rourke, making his debut very late in the season, picked up 5th position. He was helped in no small part by team mate Aaronn McCann who give him a good lead out in the final sprint.
