McCabe wins round of the Bike Station Leagues plus underage cycling action

Cuchulainn Cycling Club's club's underage section has continued to show impressive growth and had 6 members racing again on Friday last in Lurgan Park, County Antrim. In the under 10s race Michael O`Rourke was the Cuchulainn entrant and had a great race. Moving to the under 12s the club had four entrants with Shane Meegan, Tiernan O`Shaughnessey, Ffionn Dolan and Grace O`Rourke. In the end Ffionn was narrowly beaten to be second girl. In the under 12s race Rhiannon Dolan had a great start & led for the 1st 3 laps before finally finishing 6th & 1st girl.

 
The latest round of the Bike Station league was an epic 52km race around Ravensdale that finished at the Long Woman's Grave, which had been christened the "Cuchulainn Stage". By the start of the climb to the Long Woman's Grave, all the groups had come together on the road. Ardee cyclist Tomás McCabe was strongest having escaped on the climb with Newry Wheeler's Alan Bingham, whom he beat in the sprint for the win.Third place went to Macdara O`Graham, 20 seconds behind the leading duo.
